Start with a written project estimate
Before choosing financing, confirm the work you want completed, the quoted price, payment schedule and how any additional work would be approved. Projects may include roof repair or replacement, siding, gutters, windows and storm-related exterior work. Keep the construction agreement and financing agreement together for reference; they address different parts of the project.
Compare the full offer
- APR and fees: review the annual percentage rate, any origination or other fees, and the total amount you would repay.
- Repayment period: compare the monthly payment with the length and total cost of the agreement.
- Promotional terms: check the duration and conditions of any introductory offer, including the rate that applies afterward.
- Product type: understand whether the offer is a loan, credit card or other financing product and whether collateral is involved.
